Jacketed ball valve is used for bitumen,asphalt,molten sulfur,liquid silphur,resin,polymer,which is also called thermal insulation jacket ball valve, The jacket covers the body from one flange to the other flange. Thermal hot oil jacketed ball valve body is modified by adding oversize flanges. As example: 2" x 3" SMetal seated jacketed ball valve has the nominal bore of 2" (DN 50) and the flange size is 3"(DN 80). It allows enough space for bolting clearance.

The Jackets assure consistent valve Heating or Cooling of the process media to prevent crystallization or seizing of flow media. The jacketed ball valve with very well design to help the high temperature steam or oil flow over the valve ball & body parts to keep the media liquid. This applies especially to media like bitumen and liquid sulfur. In addition, the efficient flow of media is ensured through the elimination of pockets.Steam,hot oil can be used as carrier for heating media. Following quality assurance rules, every valve is tested again after the Jackets have been welded (Fabricated) to the body. Jacket Hydraulic & Air Test is carried out at 6 bar.

Jacketed ball valve is produced in carbon steel and different types of stainless steel materials. Other special materials are available upon special request.

1. Hot Jacket— Hot media passing through jacket cavity

2. Cold Jacket — Cold media passing through jacket cavity

Jacketed ball valve has good thermal insulation, cooling characteristics, in addition to reducing the diameter of the jacketed ball valve, the valve size and pipe diameter to, the medium flow in a straight line, small resistance, can effectively reduce the heat loss of the medium in the pipeline, therefore, easy to solidify, high viscosity of the liquid medium has excellent performance.Except the two-piece ball valve, the valve body adopts the integral jacket design, which can keep heat and keep cold more evenly.Weld the outer side of the jacket and body to the jacket joint with a maximum allowable steam or cold water pressure of 1MPa.

What is the jacketed ball valve function?

Hot Jacketed ball valve is used to prevent solidification of process media in a pipe line and we know better once media jam in a pipe line and stuck up, it is very difficult to re-continue the process system. So where media solidify on room / lower temperature, base on minimum heating temperature requirement jacket media being select and pass through cavity of jacket to meet trouble operation of plant which practical not possible in ordinary standard two way valve.

Cold Jacketed ball valves is used to control and maintain temperature of process media. Where the process media temperature affect the total system and process of plant, there to prevent upper maximum limit of temperature cold jacket use which recirculate cold water continuous still the plant in operation which is not possible in standard valve.
